A heads up on quality fursuits being sold or auctioned.
Wild Dog fursuit by Drakoniknight for Sale
Hello! I have just put up my wild dog fursuit by Drakoniknight for sale and was wondering if you could share my auction? I need all the help I can get. Thank you!
My submission: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14653716/
My auction: https://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1061914.html
I’m selling my Wishkah the husky full suit. All info is in the auction which closes this Friday!
Husky Wolf partial for sale!
I am holding an auction for my first new slot of 2015!
Your suit will be started when my current queue is finished (in the spring or summer) and finished around fall. I guarantee it will be finished within the 2015 calendar year.
This will be a SEMI-REALISTIC CUSTOM FULL FURSUIT commission.
I do not plan on taking any more custom fursuit commissions for a while so this is quite likely the only slot that will be available (from me) for a fully custom character fursuit within 2015 (or possibly into 2016 and beyond).
Auction starts Friday at 12pm and ends on Thursday the 25th at 8pm (PST).
Please watch this clock to know exactly when the auction ends in your time zone:
Or this one if you just wish to know what the time is currently in the auction’s time zone:
I will be tracking and updating the auction manually so there may be a little bit of lag when the auction ends (or lag in updates when I am otherwise occupied or sleeping). To prevent sniping, any bids within an hour before the auction is to close will extend bidding by an extra hour.
Auction price does NOT include shipping which should range from $25-$100 to most locations.
START BID: $3400
CURRENT BID: NA
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the heading BID and your bid amount (Aka “FURSUIT BID $4500” etc); IMPORTANT: in order for your bid to be accepted, please include a reference or description for the character. I will approve this (or reject it in which case your bid will not be counted) and (if needed) give you a quote for how much any/all extras will be over the final bid price. Please bid only in whole numbers (no cents).
The start bid includes everything to make a classic wolf/fox/etc. Any critters which I do not have a current headform for (see below) will incure a $200 charge over the final auction price.
You may chose from: canine (wolf, jackal, etc), feline (small cat & big cats), bovine (bull/bison), deer (with spike antlers included), fox (red, grey, etc), or a slim muzzled mammal such as a fennec, red panda, or raccoon. Additional creatures may be possible by modifying these headforms for no extra charge so please ask!
The head you will receive is fully adjustable with a sensitive moving jaw.
You may choose between a digitigrade body or plantigrade bodysuit with mild padding.
What is not included (but can be added for extra after auction close):
A custom sculpted base head form (dragon, bird, any mammal not mentioned above) (+$200)
A muscle suit (+$500 to $1500 depending on complexity)
Large amounts of NFT or other specialty furs (+$25 to $50 square foot)
Antlers (+$150 or more)
An upright or wagging tail (+$250)
Tattoos or unusually complicated markings (+$50 to ???)
Sculpted scales (depends)
I accept paypal, personal cheque within the USA (wire transfer internationally), & money order.
50% must be paid upfront within a week of auction close and the rest before January 2015. Please, no more than three payments total.
You will be required to provide a duct tape dummy.

I'm not sure if this would be a good question to ask since it's not entirely about fursuits but rather tails... I've been making yarn tails a lot lately in order to pay for school and was wondering if you knew of any good places to sell them?
Youre good! Its still related^^
Furbuy.com and TheDealersDen.com are the two most trafficked furry auction sites. You could try posting a few there!
From what Ive seen though, selling tails is sort of competitive so I think it would also be worth your while to boost your reputation on art sites like Furaffinity.net and perhaps deviantart.com (and here on tumblr too!). Get your tails out there and show people youre making a quality product^^!
You can of course submit your tails here too! Id be happy to signal boost them!
(Original anon asking for selling tips) Thank you so much for the advice! So it's normal to repost the suit over and over again (with a lower price obviously) if you don't get any buyers the first time around?
Oh, not a problem, its what were here for!
Ive seen it happen plenty of times with a wide variety of suits. Sometimes its just not the right time or right price. There was one suit I saw getting re-listed for a couple of months a while back. It just happens and sometimes It can take a few tries to find that sweet spot with your pricing, or get the right person so see it.
Most of the sales ive seen fail did so because the seller didnt advertise enough or go low enough, but you can definitely have bad luck too.
Any tips on selling a used fursuit? I've seen so many used auctions go without a buyer. My suit is from a decently known maker, in excellent condition, and is a unique species so I feel pretty hopeful about finding a new home for my fursuit. I just want to give it every chance to get noticed by an interested party.
Ooo this ones a toughie. Sorry if this ends up a little long!
Well, for starters, I suggest posting to a site like furbuy.com or thedealersden.com if you havent already (only pick one! posting auctions on more than one site is illegal) and testing the waters there. Both sites get a decent amount of traffic.
A heads up though. When it comes to suits of unique species, they can take a little longer to sell than those of a more common species. Ive seen a lot of well made non-canid suits sit around on furbuy for a while before selling while mediocre canid suits fly off the shelves. I guess what im trying to say is dont lose hope if that happens because despite that fact, theres also people looking for very unique suits and willing to pay a decent amount for them since they are hard to find in the sea of dogs, cats and the like, they just happen to be less common! Its why advertising is pretty key!
For getting the word out I suggest posting to art sites like Furaffinity.net, weasyl.com and tumblr in the fursuit tag saying that its for sale and including your auction link! Youre also more than welcome to submit it here and you can also see if other fursuit blogs will help signal boost it! It will significantly improve your chances of it being seen by someone interested.
Also something else that helps is to be aware of when you post your items. A lot of people get paid at the beginning of the month, so it might be good to post then. Post before big cons, some people might be itching to grab a new suit to wear to a con. Tax returns, holidays Etc. Just try to think of times when people would be more likely to buy something more expensive and plan accordingly!
If you go through those avenues and still have no luck, it might be time to lower your asking price and try again!
I guess my biggest advice is to be patient. It might be disheartening if you have to relist something multiple times and tiring to advertise stuff, but eventually someone will come across it and think its neat!
If anyone has any other helpful advice, please feel free to chime in!
Sorry this was so long, i hope it helps!
